Security Vari-Focal Cameras for Video Surveillance
Fixed lens security cameras come with preset field of view and magnification that cannot be changed. Vari-focal lenses, on the other hand, provide an in-between range of magnifications that can be smoothly adjusted manually to achieve a wanted field of view. Thus, a security camera with vari-focal lens provides more choices during a video picture setup for that particular installation. Manual vari-focal lenses provide no auto focus or automatic zoom, these features can only be adjusted manually during the install. Choose carefully whether your need a fixed or a vari-focal lens. Hands down, a vari-focal lens camera will apply to a wider range of CCTV installations, yet neither kinds of lens is swappable but only on the box (aka bank) type of cameras.
